“This is my best friend Birk. He is a 2 year old Australian Shepherd dog. I got him from a family breeder in Värmland, Sweden. We do everything with each other. What I love about him is that he is always so social and curious about everything. His favorite trick is to sit because that's is the fastest way to get treats. He was a easy puppy to train because he does anything for food, he is always hungry. Many people ask me why I named him Birk, and it's because birk means birch in Norse language of the Vikings. It kinda suits him! The cons about having an Australian Shepherd is that sometimes he is too active? He needs a LOT of training to be happy. The pros is that he is a active dog to run and hike with and easy to train. We both love to be outside and stay activate. My tips to someone who are gonna get a Australian Shepherd is to start training right away but focus on your contact. Then the tricks will come automatically. Make sure to rest and reload, that's probably what has made Birk being good at staying calm inside. When I first got him, I was just taking pictures of him to save for myself so I could have them like memories. But then later my sister gave me the idea of starting an Instagram just for Birk. At first I thought it was a little bit silly but then more people starting to follow my page on Instagram. Now we have over 12 thousand of followers, and still counting. It’s really funny to share my pictures and videos of Birk and the people seem to love it.”
